General Information for Western Avenue Drainage Improvement Project:
- Contractor: Jo-Med Contracting Corp
- Work Description: Drainage improvements along Western Avenue from Ann Street to Cherry Street
- Work Hours: 7:00am to 5:00 pm
- Start Date: Monday June 23, 2025, weather permitting
- Project Duration: 3 weeks
- Special Conditions:
- Parking restrictions during select workdays/hours/locations – No Parking signs will be posted in advance.
- Road will be closed at/by work sections to thru traffic; summer school bus thru traffic will be allowed to pass except when not practicable. Detour signs will be in place to guide vehicular traffic around closed work zone.
- On-street parking along Western Ave will be prohibited within the work zone limits during work hours and will be reinstated during evenings and on weekends outside of work hours. Alternate daytime parking may be sourced along sections of Western Avenue outside of that day’s active work zone, and vicinity.
- Workers, construction equipment and vehicles, and open utility trenches will be present daily.
- Morristown Police Department will be issuing applicable Nixle Alerts.
