As the Special Improvement District (SID) of Morristown, the Morristown Partnership is a nonprofit organization that works with key downtown stakeholders – such as property owners, businesses, residents, government leaders, and community organizations – to advance our collective vision for the future of downtown Morristown.

The Morristown Partnership provides advocacy and direct services to the boundary within that area defined by the Special Improvement District. The SID is roughly bordered by the one mile radius of the Morristown Green.

The Special Improvement District (SID) is funded through an annual assessment paid by commercial properties located within the district boundaries, as defined by municipal ordinance.
The assessment amount is determined each year through the SID’s annual budget process. Individual property assessments are calculated proportionally, based on the total assessed value of each property relative to the overall district.
Morristown Partnership is a full-time advocate for downtown supporting initiatives that increase the value and vitality of the area including economic development initiatives in areas of communications, business recruitment and retention, marketing, promotions, events, redevelopment and capital improvement projects.

Morristown Partnership serves as a helpful resource, addressing inquiries from the general public and community stakeholders by providing concierge-level information about downtown events, resources, and current happenings.
Commercial properties and their tenants are members of the Morristown Partnership. Downtown property owners within the boundaries of the SID are automatically assessed through a quarterly tax bill from the municipality.

The Morristown Partnership has facilitated many community stakeholder groups to study issues affecting downtown. Out of these have come recommendations to the Town Council for new ordinances, and revisions to existing ordinances.
