Mission
Morristown Partnership is Special Improvement District (SID) created in 1994, designated as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. It supports Morristown’s vibrant business district by developing private/public partnerships among business, government, civic and community members. It is self-funded partly through special assessments on commercial properties located in the SID, foundation and/or government grants, promotional participation, sponsorships for community events and financial & in-kind donations. The Morristown Partnership consists of 500 commercial properties and 1,000+ businesses physically located in the SID.
Morristown Partnership supports the ongoing revitalization of the central business district in the Town of Morristown through economic development initiatives in areas of communications, business recruitment and retention, marketing, promotions, events, redevelopment and capital improvement projects. The organization is committed to championing dynamic projects and supporting all efforts to ensure that the municipality continues to be attractive to local businesses and investors.

Since 1994, Morristown Partnership, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, has collaborated with the business community, town government and civic partners to create, promote, and implement initiatives for economic revitalization and local investment, enhancing the well-being of both the S.I.D. and the Town of Morristown.

Board of Trustees
The Morristown Partnership is governed by a District Management Corporation (DMC) created by the Town Council at the time the special improvement district was introduced and approved. The DMC is directed by a 17 member Board of Trustees comprised of:
- 15 Business/Commercial Property Owners in the district
- 1 Mayoral Representative
- 1 Town Council Representative
The 15-business/property owner Trustees are elected by the constituency for three year terms. An election is held annually with five seats available each year.
Board meetings are held in-person at the Morristown Partnership and virtually on Zoom the second Wednesday of the month at 8:00 a.m. (No meetings are held in August and December).

Built Environment
Considers matters pertaining to the built environment, encompassing policies related to housing, planning, transportation, and infrastructure. Enhances Morristown’s downtown business district with diverse initiatives, including strategies for improving physical infrastructure and aesthetics.
- Streetscape: Collaborate with the Town of Morristown and local businesses to maintain and execute the Streetscape master plan.
- Cleanliness and Appearance: Address cleanliness and aesthetics; implement initiatives for visual appeal and beautification.
- Urban Mobility and Parking: Develop strategies for improving and marketing public transportation and parking systems.
- Employee Experience: Focus on enhancing the overall experience of commercial employees; identify strategies for access, satisfaction and engagement.
- Downtown Living Experience: Enhance the residential experience within apartment communities. Address urban living challenges related to our constituents’ success, growth, and survival.
Business Sector Engagement
Identifies and addresses the unique needs of local businesses. Enhances visibility and strengthens partnerships to support sustained growth and collaboration through targeted initiatives.
- Collaborative Opportunities: Facilitate cross-marketing initiatives among restaurants, retail, professional firms and service providers.
- Networking: Engage businesses in annual networking events that facilitate connections among different sectors. Establish industry-specific forums for the exchange of expertise and knowledge.
- Training and Development: Identify and share resources and training sessions, work with industry experts to facilitate workshops and seminars.
- Employment Support: Provide initiatives and resources to support businesses in sharing employment opportunities, contributing to the growth of the local workforce.
Financial Strategy & Business Development
Enhances the financial sustainability of the Morristown Partnership and maximizes stakeholder value through strategies aimed at offsetting Special Improvement District assessment funds. Offers assistance in recruitment endeavors, working closely with stakeholders to attract and onboard new investment in Morristown.
- Diversifying Revenue Streams: Identify and cultivate potential sponsorship opportunities to secure additional financial support. Explore in-kind partnerships. Research and pursue grant opportunities that align with the goals and initiatives of the Morristown Partnership.
- Business Recruitment and Commercial Development: Identify vacant commercial spaces and development opportunities in Morristown, attract and onboard new business ventures.
- Strategic Promotion: Actively contribute to marketing efforts showcasing Morristown as a premier destination for investment.
Marketing & Promotion
Assists in the communication of Morristown Partnership’s marketing campaigns and dissemination promotional materials, providing assistance in fostering engagement from both board members and constituents.
- Publicity and Brand Awareness: Actively contribute to the development of inclusive marketing plans for both Morristown Partnership and its initiatives to attract diverse audiences to the downtown business district. Support marketing campaigns by building and maintaining strong relationships with media outlets, influencers, and other key partners.
- Content Creation and Storytelling: Conduct interviews and collect testimonials to create authentic and relatable stories about Morristown and its thriving business community. Develop narratives that effectively communicate the organization’s mission and values, highlighting the positive impact within the local community.
- Special Events: Secures the involvement of board members and constituents in Morristown Partnership-sponsored events, while also playing a role in developing community partner events or suggesting modifications for consideration.
Public Affairs & Advocacy
Participates actively in public policy, government affairs, and community relations on behalf of Morristown Partnership or constituents. Develops relationships with government and fosters engagement with the community in order to share accomplishments and navigate challenges. Encourages constituents to actively participate in advocating for their interests by providing them with information on local business issues.
- Public Policy Advocacy: Represent and advance organization or constituent interests by engaging with both the public and government to shape policies and regulations that align with their objectives.
- Convey Constituent Opinions: Communicate the opinions and positions of the constituency to government officials and other community entities, ensuring their perspectives are considered in the decision-making process.
- Government Affairs Management: Engage with government entities to navigate and address issues affecting the organization or constituency.
- Community Relations: Foster positive relationships within the community, addressing concerns and maintaining open communication.
- Local Business Landscape: Stays informed about local topics and ordinances affecting the business community. Promote both external engagement and self-advocacy tools to enhance overall participation.
